May 29, 2008

I was good all day preparing for tonight--dinner at Bluestone for dept. chairs.
Breakfast: 3/4 of a large mango, coffee
lunch: 1 1/4 cup yougure and granola, carrots, tea.

Dinner was wild--but I enjoyed it. The menu was preselected, but did I have to eat bread and butter (yum) ?
small salad, two large pieces of tuna with sesame crusts and asparagus over a little rice. I should have stopped there. But dessert was included--chocolate or vanilla ice cream. I chose vanilla and ate the whole thing. (two enormous scoops) I have never seen ice cream servings of that portion.

I'm sorry guys. I'm not sure I am going to make it. Say something.
P.S. I did go work out at least.

May 28, 2008

Oh, it was a disaster. I fell off the bandwagon. I didn't eat breakfast, and then grazed in the faculty room all day--cake, crackers and dips, quiche, fruit. Stayed far away from the veggies as if they would eat me instead of the other way around.

Dinner: grilled chicken with two whole wheat chapatis and a lemon sherbet cup.
No exercise. What can I say? It's disappointing.

Last week in May, 2008

Okay! At last I've worked out the kinks in the world of blogs and my furry, fuzzy head.

Here's what I ate on May 26th.

2 cups coffee with Splenda and creamer
1 boiled egg with one slice whole grain toast
Peppermint tea
4 sticks imitation crab with hot sauce (only 30 calories per slice)
4-5 ounces chicken and snap beans
1 apple

And I worked out at the gym.

May 27th. Well, it was a school day, a lopsided eating schedule.
Proctored exams; then went to lunch in the cafeteria and over did it.

Morning coffee (2 cups with too much creamer)
Lunch:

A huge salad plate with lettuce (very little) beets, marinated onions and cucumber, marinated bean marinated salad, cottage cheese, olives, chick peas, and whatever else I can't remember.
Tuna fish salad on a kaiser roll
Liquid yogurt (flavored)

So stuffed, I could barely move! Felt like a beached whale.
Brought home an egg salad sandwich for dinner. Ate one soggy, salady slice. Threw the
rest of the bread away, but kept the salad for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, is when we celebrate faculty and staff birthdays for that week. Different departments take turns. The science department does the month of May. So I fixed Russian Peasant dip, mint chutney, and chapatis as my contribution. Others will be bringing things.
Wednesdays is when I pig out faithfully all through the year.
Tomorrow, for the first time, I will watch what I stuff between my lips because I'll have to make a confession right here, and I want to be, at best, a moderate sinner. :)
